Woollahra Council working with the Women’s Housing Company to provide housing for families impacted by domestic violence In Category - News Date - 05/08/2019 |
Survivors of domestic and family violence now have the opportunity to secure subsidised accommodation as part of a new partnership established by Woollahra Council with the Women’s Housing Company.
The initiative has already secured subsidised accommodation for two Woollahra families, allowing them to stay in the local area where they are connected to friends, family, schools and support.
Domestic and family violence is a major cause of homelessness and children impacted by domestic violence are more likely to experience anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
The Women’s Housing Company is pleased to be working in partnership with Woollahra Council and other local support services to deliver housing solutions.
