Safety changes everything

Every day across Australia, women facing crisis are forced to make impossible decisions – safety or stability, survival or security, stay or start again with nothing.

In the wake of these choices, many women are left navigating trauma, financial hardship and a loss of confidence, alongside deep uncertainty about what comes next. For many, homelessness becomes part of their story – but it should not define their future.

When a woman reaches out for help, she isn’t just looking for shelter – she’s fighting for a second chance.

At Women’s Housing Company, we provide more than a roof – we deliver wraparound, holistic support that helps women rebuild their lives. Alongside safe and stable housing, women receive support to regain confidence, develop life and employment skills, and access the practical tools they need to move forward with dignity and hope.

But we can’t do it alone.

Your gift today can help a woman move beyond crisis – providing safety now, and the foundations she needs to build a stronger, more secure future.

Empowering Her Voice.

Her Voice empowers women in the Women’s Housing Company community to share their stories with confidence and purpose – challenging stigma, raising awareness and influencing change.

By amplifying women’s lived experiences, Her Voice rebuilds individual agency, strengthening personal empowerment and deepening community understanding. Over five weeks, a small group of women work alongside WHC Patron the Hon. Ros Kelly AO to transform lived experience into powerful advocacy.

With ongoing support from our donors, participants build the skills and confidence to speak about their journeys in ways that honour their experiences, empower their voices and help shape conversations about housing insecurity, domestic violence and women’s rights.

The need is growing every day.

1/3

of our clients have experienced family and domestic violence.

53,900+

women experience homelessness on any given night in Australia.*

55+

women are the fastest growing group facing homelessness.

65.4%

of our clients live with a mental health condition.

Even after women secure stable housing, the effects of violence, homelessness, financial hardship and trauma often remain.

Housing is the foundation – but rebuilding a life requires ongoing support to restore confidence, strengthen identity and create opportunities to be heard, connected and empowered.

This is where your support makes a lasting difference.

Through initiatives like Her Voice, women in the Women’s Housing Company community gain the opportunity to move beyond survival and take active roles in their own recovery and leadership. This support helps transform lived experience into strength, connection and purpose – creating pathways to participation, advocacy and long-term independence.

Your support goes beyond housing – it invests in confidence, capability and opportunity, helping women build lives defined not by crisis, but by resilience, leadership and possibility.
