Thank You to Alice Spizzo – Celebrating 17 Years of Service

After 17 years of dedicated service on the Board of the Women’s Housing Company, including 11 years as Chair, Alice Spizzo has stepped down, leaving behind a legacy of impactful leadership, transformation, and heartfelt commitment.

During Alice’s tenure, the Women’s Housing Company experienced significant growth and development. Our housing portfolio more than doubled, supported by strategic initiatives such as:

  • Our collaboration with Bridge Housing through the Social Housing Management Transfer (SHMT) Program;
  • The continued success of our housing for older women partnership with Homes NSW
  • Multiple programs supporting women and children escaping domestic and family violence.

Under Alice’s leadership, we also expanded our support services to better respond to the complex needs of women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

What stood out most, however, was Alice’s deep respect for the people behind the work. Whether attending staff events or speaking at team meetings, she consistently took time to acknowledge the commitment of our team and the importance of our shared mission. That kind of authentic leadership leaves a lasting impact.

On behalf of everyone at the Women’s Housing Company – thank you, Alice. We are immensely grateful for your service and wish you all the best in the future.

Stay tuned – we look forward to introducing our new Chair, Carmen Osborne, very soon.
