Her Voice

Women's stories matter.
Their voices deserve to be heard.
Many women in our community have experienced housing instability, financial hardship, family and domestic violence or major life changes. These experiences can impact confidence and connection but they also build resilience.

What Is Her Voice?

Her Voice is a supportive, small-group program for women in the Women’s Housing Company community who want to strengthen their confidence, connect with others and explore their voice in a welcoming environment.

Over five weeks, participants come together to reflect on their experiences, develop self-expression skills and build confidence in their own abilities. Guided by Women’s Housing Company staff, Patron the Hon. Ros Kelly AO, and community and industry leaders, the program provides opportunities for women to learn, connect and take part in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Through Her Voice, women:

Develop communication and story-telling skills
Feel heard, valued and supported
Build confidence and self-belief
Connect with other women who understand their experiences
Find purpose and meaning in their journey

A Supportive Space

Every woman’s journey is different. Experiences of housing instability, hardship and major life changes can shape the way women see themselves and their place in the community.

Her Voice recognises the resilience women already hold and acknowledges that confidence is rebuilt over time. The program provides an opportunity for women to celebrate their progress, learn from one another and feel empowered in their next steps.

By creating meaningful connections and fostering a sense of community, Her Voice helps women recognise their own strengths and the possibilities ahead.

Host a Her Voice

Hosting a Her Voice session is an opportunity for organisations to create a meaningful staff engagement experience while strengthening their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Designed as a lunch and learn for a cause, the session brings employees closer to the realities of women’s housing insecurity through the voice of a woman with lived experience, creating space for empathy, understanding and meaningful conversation.

By hearing directly from women about the challenges they have faced and the resilience they have shown, teams can build greater awareness of the barriers women experience and reflect on how they can help create more inclusive, supportive workplaces and communities.
