Corporate Action for Lasting Impact

“Having those specialist programs is really important. Whether women are fleeing domestic violence or exiting incarceration, specialist approaches need to be incorporated, ensuring they are linked to strategies addressing housing and homelessness.”
Nada Nasser, CEO

Corporates can play a key role in making that happen.

At the ULI Australia Sydney Women’s Leadership Initiative event, Housing at the Grassroots: Corporate Action for Lasting Impact, our CEO Nada Nasser joined Seamus Christley (Managing Director, SCT Consulting) and Jennifer Shearer (Husman) (Development Manager, Link Wentworth), moderated by Mehra Jafari (Director, Urbis), to explore how corporates can drive real, measurable change.

Seamus shared SCT Consulting’s partnership with Women’s Housing Company, which is an example of shared purpose and strategic alignment delivering tangible outcomes. Through The SCT Initiative, the company has installed solar systems across multiple WHC properties in Lakemba and Wiley Park, providing more than 60 kW of clean energy. These projects are saving tenants over $8,000 annually on electricity bills and preventing around 73 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. The initiative also connects SCT staff directly with the women whose homes and lives are being improved, creating a deep sense of purpose and pride.

Partnerships like this show how corporate strategies that embed social and environmental responsibility can create genuine impact for communities and businesses alike.

A big thank you to ULI Sydney’s WLI for facilitating this important discussion and continuing to spotlight innovative, practical, grassroots solutions to Australia’s housing challenges.

If you are looking to make a tangible, long-term impact on the lives of the women we house, or to increase our capacity to provide more homes and support, we welcome conversations.
