Women’s Housing Company AGM 2025

This year, we transformed our Annual General Meeting into a celebration and a moment to reflect on the year that has been, honour the strength of our community, and reaffirm our commitment to providing safe and affordable housing for women.

The event began with a Welcome to Country by Yvonne Weldon AM, reminding us of the deep connection between land, culture, and community. Her words set a tone of respect and unity for the day.

As part of the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the event featured a powerful panel conversation moderated by our Patron, The Hon. Ros Kelly AO, with expert insights from Yumi Lee (Older Women’s Network), Sarah Rosenberg (With You We Can) and Shaymaa (WHC tenant).

We were also honoured to hear a keynote address from City of Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor Jess Miller, who spoke passionately about the importance of affordable housing in creating safety and opportunity for women. The event concluded on a note of unity and hope as everyone joined together in song, reminded of the power of community and collective action.

As we approach the end of the year, we carry forward the energy, optimism, and solidarity that filled the room. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who continue to champion our work. Here’s to a safe and empowering year ahead for all women.
