Launch of the George & Jaqui Maree Fellowship

Last Friday, the Women’s Housing Company proudly launched the George & Jaqui Maree Fellowship, a transformative 12-week program made possible through the generous support of George Stamas and Jaqui Stamas.

This Fellowship will empower more than a dozen women to build the skills, confidence, and capacity needed to write their next chapter. More than just a program, it is a pathway to independence, enabling participants to define their futures, lead purposeful lives, and become role models within their communities.

At the heart of this initiative is the Women’s Housing Company’s commitment to fostering empowerment and agency for women experiencing housing insecurity.

With Jaqui’s thoughtful guidance, the Fellowship was designed to place dignity, self-care, and connection at its core, bringing together our tenant community with the broader WHC network, including staff, board members, and supporters.

During the launch, George shared a moving reflection on his personal commitment to standing beside women impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, and housing insecurity. His words highlighted the importance of supporting women to build capacity and capability as a foundation for lasting change.

We are deeply grateful to George and Jaqui for their vision and generosity, and we look forward to witnessing the impact of this Fellowship in the lives of the women we serve.
