Community Greening Project In Category - News Date - 11/02/2019 |
A big thank you from the Women’s Housing Company to the Liverpool City Garden Project team for transforming some of our tenant gardens into budding community spaces.
The collaboration includes partners from Liverpool City Police Area Command, Liverpool City Council, PCYC Liverpool, Department of Family and Community Service (FACS), South Western Sydney Local Health District, the Royal Botanic Gardens, University of NSW, Liverpool Women’s Resource Centre and Bunnings Hoxton Park.
WHC staff and tenants helped to create raised garden beds and fill them with edible and floral varieties, which will transform the area and provide more opportunities for social connection.
The Royal Botanic Gardens Community Greening team will continue the good work with a series of workshops with tenants designed to encourage sustainability and build community. All Women’s Housing Company tenants are welcome to join in; details will be published in the Autumn edition of our newsletter.
